Baja Sardinia, Italy (updated 2022)
“This land resembles no other place. Sardinia is something else. Enchanting spaces and distances to travel-nothing finished, nothing definitive. It is like freedom itself.”
- DH Lawrence, Sea and Sardinia, 1921
Wedding Location
Our wedding venue, Punta Baja, is located in a small beach town called Baja Sardinia. While there is an abundance of places to stay on the island, we highly encourage everyone to stay in the town. Transportation to and from wedding events will be provided.

Getting from the Olbia airport to Baja Sardinia
We are so grateful you're making the journey to see us in Sardinia and it is our goal to make everything as convenient and simple once you land. Baja Sardinia is about a 30 minute drive from the Olbia airport.
If you want to explore the island beyond Baja Sardinia (which you should!), we recommend renting a car. We've always had a great experience with Europcar which has manual and automatic options at comparable prices. Travel hack: booking from europcar.it instead of europcar.com may save you money
While there are no Ubers on the island, taxis and hotel shuttles also an option for those wanting a more convenient airport transfer. Please note: that taxis can be hard to find outside of the airport. If you want to explore other parts of the island, we recommend renting a car.
COVID-19
(LAST UPDATED 6/14/22)
TO ENTER ITALY FROM THE US
As of June 1st, Italy has dropped all Covid-19 entry regulations! This means that you no longer have to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test for entry. YAY! Germany along with many other EU countries have dropped regulations as well but we encourage you to double check the country of your connecting flight just in case!
TO RETURN TO THE U.S. YOU MUST HAVE:
GREAT NEWS!! As of June 12, 2022, the CDC no longer requires air passengers traveling from a foreign country to the United States to show a negative COVID-19 viral test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board their flight!
Where to Stay
Hotels and Guesthouses
Lodging: Hotel
Below are the hotels we recommend that are in walking distance to the wedding venue. There are no Ubers or Lyfts in Sardinia and taxis are limited.
Lodging: Airbnb
There are also airbnbs in the area - we recommend you stay within walking distance of Punta Baja but there are also villas a few minutes drive away if you decide to rent a car.
Lodging: Other Options
There are many other booking sites where you may find villas other than airbnb (airbnb host fees tend to be high) - so if you google “Sardinia Vacation Villa” or similar you can find more!

What to Do
Activities in the Baja Sardinia Region
EXPLORE
Situated in the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea, Sardinia is a serene and secluded island that is famous for some of the softest white sand beaches, unspoiled rugged mountain ranges, and mysterious archaeology. The island regularly tops polls of the world’s best beaches, with spiagge (beaches) ranging from the rugged, cliff-backed coves of the east to the dune-flanked strands of the west.
PLAY
Swim, windsurf, or play on one of the island’s many beaches. Charter a boat, go on a horseback tour, or tour the enigmatic round stone towers known as nuraghi. You can also walk on original Roman streets and visit the windswept ruins of cities built by the Phoenicians.
EAT & DRINK
Sardinian cuisine is extremely varied, enriched through the centuries by the exchanges and influences from other populations of the Mediterranean basin: Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs and Spanish. Each area has its specialties; pasta, bread, cheeses, meat, seafood, and natural herbs are the basis for a range of tasty dishes to discover on a trip to this beautiful region.
